Ingredients: Cheese, Medium Chunky Salsa, Green Peppers, Lean Beef, Old El Paso Burrito Seasoning
Fucking good. A classic burrito, simple, easy to prepare, tastes good. I have to admit this was my first experience with Old El Paso Burrito seasoning and it was a good one, the seasoning really added flavour to the lean beef and gave it something extra without taking up valuable real estate inside the wrap. Would definitely do this again.. in fact.. I'm going to make another right now.
Ideas for Improvement: Add some beans and hot peppers to make it a little more rounded and up the spice. Initial thought was green onions as well, I think a few of those mixed in with the beef while cooking would really top off on the flavour chart.
I tried this on the second burrito, the result were good enough for a 1 point increase in overall flavor. Add hot sauce and its good for 2.

ReplyDeleteA simple recipe from a fairly simple man.
ReplyDeleteThat's the beauty of 'The Bunn;' there is no set recipe. It's however you want it to be. And hot sauce makes everything 2 points better.
And filling can be a 10, depending on how much meat you put in. When I prepare a half kilo of beef, that usually makes me three burritos, whereas for mere mortals, that would serve six.
Yet another variation that I would recommend is instead of the standard Old El Paso mix, you use my favourite seasoning of all time, The Great American Land and Cattle Company Steak and Meat Seasoning.
Hailing from the borderlands of El Paso, Texas and Juárez, Mexico comes a secret family recipe of closely guarded ingredients not seen since the Colonel himself prepared his first piece of chicken. I dare anyone to put this seasoning on any piece of meat and not be overwhelmed with flavour.
Really? Where might one find such a spice? I would be happy to add it to my collection.
